What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text data files stored on your browser or device by websites you visit. In addition to cookies, modern web and mobile applications utilize client-side storage technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and secure keychains to maintain active user sessions, enhance loading speeds, and preserve user preferences.

This Cookie Policy explains how Yards & Acres utilizes cookies and local storage tokens to deliver an efficient, secure real estate discovery experience.

Categories of Cookies We Use

We deploy strictly necessary and functional cookies. We do not employ deceptive behavioral tracking or unauthorized third-party advertising cookies:

1. Strictly Necessary Authentication Cookies: Essential for user authentication and session preservation. Managed via Supabase Auth (e.g. sb-*-auth-token), ensuring that authenticated Buyers, Sellers, and Admins remain logged into their respective dashboards across page refreshes.

2. Security & Anti-Abuse Cookies: Employed to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF), monitor rate limiting, verify payment gateway callbacks, and detect automated bots.

3. Functional & Preference Storage: Stores your customized property search preferences, active city filter (Hyderabad or Vijayawada), property category selections, and recently viewed or wishlisted properties.

4. Performance & Diagnostics: Anonymized performance telemetry used solely to detect client-side script errors, measure page render latency, and optimize API responsiveness.

3

Third-Party Cookies & Providers

When you execute transactions on the Platform, trusted third-party providers may set operational cookies:

  • Razorpay: Sets temporary session tokens within their checkout modal to authenticate bank handshakes, verify 3D Secure OTPs, and mitigate payment fraud.
  • Supabase Cloud: Utilizes cryptographic session tokens to authenticate API communications with our PostgreSQL infrastructure.
4

How to Manage and Disable Cookies

You have full control over cookie settings through your internet browser preferences (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc.). You can choose to block all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or clear existing cookies and local storage at any time.

Important Functionality Notice: Because our authentication system relies on cryptographic session cookies and local storage to verify your account identity, disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in, managing listings, or completing subscription payments.

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect enhancements in technology or legislative requirements. Revisions become effective immediately upon posting to the Platform.
